Where AJUTIA comes from

My name is Robert Vlad Ulica. I live in Móra la Nova, in the Ribera d'Ebre.

A while ago I started building tools with artificial intelligence. One for a bakery. Another for an adventure company. One for a municipal tourist office.

Every time the same thing happened. The person in front of me would stare at the screen and say something very similar: this takes hours off my back.

And every time something stayed with me.

Because these tools are not hard to build. What is hard is reaching them. A big company has someone to set them up. A town council of eight hundred people does not. A baker who closes at two and spends the afternoon sorting orders, neither.

The technology that should serve to level the field is doing the opposite: those who were already ahead go faster, and those who were just getting by fall behind.

I reached a simple conclusion. If this is a good, it has to be a good that looks at everyone.

Not because it sounds nice to say. Because otherwise, in five years the town will have the same empty shops as now, but with more technology around them that will not be theirs.

Hence AJUTIA.

And hence the desire to be a cooperative. A normal company, however good its intentions, ends up doing what the person who put the money asks. A cooperative does what the people who use it decide.

It is not one yet: it is in the process. I say it this way because telling the truth about the state of something is the first test of whether you can trust it.

The next step is to validate the tools with specific cases and check whether they provide real help. Time savings will need to be measured, not assumed.
